Training

Managing licensed premises is not an easy job and there are various specialist skills required. On top of that, the law says that in some cases you must have the correct qualifications in order to do your job.

If you want to hold a Personal Licence and be named on a Premises Licence and the Designated Premises Supervisor then you will need to sit and pass a relevant training course.

Training courses

There is a range of different courses depending on what it is you need to learn:

  • APLH Award for Personal Licence Holders
  • Cellar Management
  • Responsible Alcohol Retailing
  • SIA Licence training for security guards and door supervisors

It also makes good sense to earn more qualifications – the more you hold, the more employable you make yourself.

Note: the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (NCPLH) has changed to the Award for Personal Licence Holders (APLH).
